Schools and colleges across Canterbury, Maidstone, Rochester, Bromley and Croydon all have the opportunity to offer their students to chance to gain nationally and internationally recognised qualifications.

Courses covering Fitness Instructing, Personal Training, Nutrition, Circuits and more are being delivered by our team at Sir Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School in Rochester. In a ground-breaking step for the traditionally academic school, Head of PE Simon Downes has been delighted with the impact Rob Horswell Training’s introduction has had.

"We are pleased to be able to work in partnership with Rob Horswell Training to offer our students the opportunity to take up the Personal Training gym course, which will lead to an industry-recognised qualification and allow them to gain employment in gym settings."

"At the Math, sport underpins almost everything we do. Sport teaches youngsters resilience, learning from failure, team working and leadership, and the importance of, frankly, hard work. This qualification is a superb progression for those who want to take their sport to the next level and potentially make a living out of it."

The qualifications provide a range of opportunities for students considering their futures and life after school.

"This course leads to a qualification which has real currency in the sector, so you can become a gym instructor, get UCAS points if university is the goal, and provides an opportunity to stay fit and healthy and learn why you’re doing so."

"The course has plenty for the mind and the body. It’s a Diploma, so is underpinned with some serious academic rigour, but it’s also about becoming gym-instructor qualified, so you can stay in shape."

As the partnership builds from strength to strength, the Math’s wider strategy to engage young people in fitness and sport is reaping fantastic reward.

Simon said; "We strive to achieve brilliance in all aspects of Sport at the Math. The last two years have seen capital investment in the gym, sports hall, all-weather pitch and cricket nets, plus a focus on senior Rugby coaching, a 'sports excellence' programme, elite workshops, an emphasis on maximising participation and the employment of visiting hockey and cricket coaches. Our partnership with Rob Horswell Training builds on this vision and will create a unique opportunity for sportsmen and women to develop and progress."

"Rob Horswell Training is a valued partner of the school; his values and ethos align with ours and he offers a superb and high-quality service."
