Course Overview

- The heart and circulatory system
- The musculosketal system
- Postural and core stability
- The nervous, endocrine and energy systems and their relation to exercise and health
- Policies and procedures that relate to an exercise referral instructor
- Specific controlled medical conditions
- Medications and their implications for exercise
- Managing an exercise referral programme
- Planning, preparing and instructing an exercise referral session
Target Candidates
This qualification aims to equip the individual with the underpinning knowledge and practical skills required to plan, deliver, manage and evaluate a safe, effective and progressive adapted physical activity programme for referred clients/patients with specific controlled conditions.
Prerequisites
Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym-Based, Group Exercise and Water-Based Exercise) or equivalent
